How to Prepare an Image for the Internet

  • Before you can upload a photo or an image you usually must reduce the size of the file. Images used  for printing are much larger in file size than one would send over the internet.
72dpi is a good size to use for the internet. DPI stands for dots per inch.  If you do not have a program to do this here is a free download. This program is very easy to use.
You can take all your images in one folder and make them web ready (optimize) or you can do one at a time.

You will need to optimize images to share on the internet, send in email, web sites, and up load here on your student member page.

Click Here to see a short video on how to optimize images with this program.
