I appreciate your comments. We have a interested buyer for the Post. Am Vets Post 49 want to move forward with a offer. We will then move to a new location once the debts are taken care of. I wanted to let you know that I grew up in Evart, Michigan and came up to Alaska in 1980 to work for ARCO. Love it up here with all that Alaska has to offer. Again, thanks for you concern.

THE GRUNT AND DR. KING
“Well, here I am, anonymous all right. With guys nobody really cares about. They come from the end of the line, most of ‘em. Small towns you never heard of…Two year’s high school’s about it. Maybe, if they’re lucky, a job waiting for ‘em back in a factory. But most of them got nothing. They’re poor. They’re the unwanted. Yet, they’re fighting for our society and our free…

Hey guys!! Well, a lot (and a little) has happened since I lasted blogged. I took a trip down, or up rather, to Kuwait a couple weeks ago. It was a lot colder up there than it is here (but not as cold as there!). The trip was fairly uneventful...didn't do a hole lot of anything except sleep, eat, read, and some training. But, I made it back here to QA safe and sound!
Mark is doing exceptional where he's at! He just had his check-ride on the big, bad C-17 and aced it of course! He should be home…

Effective today the Post is going up for Sale. The Intent is to settle the IRS Tax Obligation and to try to find an Investor that will do a long term Lease back to us. Because of the continued Financial Problems that is facing the Banking Industry we were turned down on the Refinance Effort. Being a Non-Profit there are more stringent 'Parameters' on Loans given to Non-Profit Organizations. With the Equity that we have in the building, my Plan is to revise the Operational Procedures and Expense'…

Hi everyone! I am so sorry that I haven't stayed in better touch with y'all. I have been working 14-16 hour days with minimal time to myself. I have been doing a lot of briefing - mostly to our two star general here. I have made quite a name for myself in the past couple of months. Speaking of which, I am two months done y'all! How exciting is that!!! Only four short ones to go!!!!
Everything else is going well. I am still in classes - I finished my last two with A's and began another last week…

Well kids...I've been gone for almost two weeks and have been here for almost one. It is HOT HOT HOT here. To put it nicely, it 'cooled' off to about 90 F last night :)
Everything is going well. I am settled in and working now. I work a swing shift - from noon til 2200. It's not a bad shift... My living conditions are not bad either. I have a decent little room and a room mate. I also have laundry facilities at my disposal and communal showers.
I just got my Qatari driver's license yesterday.…

Well folks...its down to the wire now. Mark will be flying out tonight and I leave in the morning...sad in a way but good at the same time. I think I've got everything packed that I might need. Though, I'm sure I'll forget something along the way. And knowing me, I'll end up leaving something everywhere we stop too.
It was great to see everyone and say fairwell for now yesterday. And, Joe and Connie stopped by today so I got to see them as well. I sure will miss everyone.
Mark is feeling a lit…
