Weekly Update

Well kids...I've been gone for almost two weeks and have been here for almost one. It is HOT HOT HOT here. To put it nicely, it 'cooled' off to about 90 F last night :)

Everything is going well. I am settled in and working now. I work a swing shift - from noon til 2200. It's not a bad shift... My living conditions are not bad either. I have a decent little room and a room mate. I also have laundry facilities at my disposal and communal showers.

I just got my Qatari driver's license yesterday. So now I can drive on and off base. I hope to get a day off soon to go down town and do some sight seeing.

I should get to gettin for now...I hope everyone is well!

Hey D,
Thinking about you, Hating this time of year anyway, hoping you stay safe, love hearing from you with your regular updates. We have our last fundraiser for the Polar Bear Plunge this Sat., I want you to know that I am not only jumping in honor of the family members I have lost to Cancer, but also, for all of you, doing what you do, where you do it. I, personally feel safe, free, and honored, because of just that. I hope my pride eminates all the way over there to all of you. I don't think I could ever express my gratitude or my thanks . I met a girl today with a new tattoo on her inner right arm, that simply said...." This too, shall end" The meaning what it brought to her may be different than my take on that, but I have hope she permanently embedded it into her arm, for the same reason that first came to my thoughts. Glad you made it safe, very sorry I did not get to say goodbye! Thinking about you over there. Hope you are safe and well. Keep in touch, send us pics and updates from time to time! Hope Mark and BA are doing well. Just sent for my birth certificate, so I can get my passport, to go to Greece in April. Talk soon! As Ever, Sarah

Did you get to town yet? Can you post any photos?
We had a great fund raiser last weekend. The gang really did a great job. I took a lot of photo....too many. I will sort through and post here soon.
